I'm Debbie, and if we haven't met before, I love empowering and guiding people to finding an even better version of themselves if they so choose.

 

Over many years of study and experimentation, I've learned ways in which I can reduce anxiety, stress and overwhelm in my life, elevate my health and wellbeing to levels where I never, ever get sick, and also lose weight without having to give up the foods that I love. And maybe even more importantly (at least in my opinion), without having to exercise :-)

 

Sure I know exercise is important, but I'm the first to admit, I am not a fan of physical exercise. Not because I think it isn't good for me, of course it is. We all know we should exercise more, right? But because well, partly I'm a little lazy and prefer to focus on my studies or read a good book, and secondly, I'm just so darn busy. Know the feeling?

 

And I love food. I love my Friday night pizza, and I adore chicken schnitzel and chips. Yum!! Of course I know healthy eating is good for me, I haven't been living under a rock. But I'm also practical. I know that if a diet is too hard, I'm just not going to stick with it. So I like to try and strike a balance with a bit of healthy eating, but also eating the foods I like when I feel like eating them.

 

And hey, let's be honest here. How hard is it to try and keep up with what is good for you these days anyway? I'm tired of trying to keep track of what's what.

 

Whether eggs are bad for your cholesterol, no wait they're actually good for you? No wait it's ok to eat them, but not the egg whites?

 

What???

 

I give up.

 

So if you're like me and you want the lazy way to lose weight, while still enjoying eating what you enjoy, then this is for you.

Over the years, I've tried many different diets, with the Atkins low-carb diet  producing the most spectacular results...

 

swiftly followed by the most spectacular failure, as I piled all the weight right back on very quickly once I gave in to my intense carb cravings.

 

I felt there just had to be a better, and easier way. And guess what, there actually is.

 

Now first, some truths.

 

Firstly, yes this method works. Well it worked for me. But of course, we are all different. In fact, if you read this article here, you'll discover that even though two people might eat the exact same thing, it can have very different effects on their body. Go figure.

 

But this method worked for me. So I'm really hopeful that it will work for you.

 

Secondly, and this is important so stay with me here, this is NOT a course about healthy eating. Yes I know I've put some lovely pics on this page, some showing some healthy and delicious looking foods. But that's because they look positively delish, not because I'm going to tell you to eat them.

Ok now, I am a firm believer in healthy food being good for you. In fact, I have a membership site dedicated to helping you achieve health and wellbeing. 

 

I am certainly NOT condoning unhealthy eating as I firmly believe that food can be used as medicine to heal you and it provides the fuel to give you energy. So of course it makes sense that if you put garbage in your body all the time, it's not doing you much good. 

 

However, what I am not saying is that you SHOULD always eat healthy. Why? Because I don't, not always. And so I'd never try and tell you to do so.

    If you try and force yourself to do anything, or deprive yourself of anything, then your brain and body rebel and it become impossible to stick to anything long term.

     

    So what I am trying to say is, eat healthy or don't eat healthy. Exercise or don't exercise. That is entirely your choice. You're an adult, you get to make your own choices.

     

    BUT you don't HAVE to eat healthy options or exercise AT ALL to benefit from what I'm going to teach you and you will still lose weight.

     

    And thirdly. I am not a dietician, nor am I a nutritionist. And I am certainly not a medical doctor. What I am is someone who has found a way of eating that helped me to lose weight. And keep it off. And I want to share it with you incase it helps you too. You need to be sensible about this. If you need to follow a specific diet for medical or other reasons, then this may not be for you.

     

    So yes, this worked for me. Will it work for you? I don't know, but I certainly hope so. And if it doesn't?

    Here are the answers to the questions I am most commonly asked


    • What are your credentials for creating this course?

      Well that's an easy one. I used to be you. I tried every diet that was going round. And sometimes it would work, and most times it wouldn't. And even if it did work, I'd struggle to keep off the weight I'd worked so hard to lose. And I always felt like such a failure. Like it was my fault I couldn't stick to the diet rigidly. But once I learned that the problem wasn't me, but was the diet, and I realised that dieting is not the answer. I quickly gained control and lost all the weight I'd been fighting for years to lose. And it's stayed off. And that's what I want to share with you. And if that doesn't give me the credentials, then I don't know what does. 

    • Are you a medically trained professional or dietician?

      No, absolutely not. I have no medical training whatsoever, and I've never been trained in healthy eating, balanced nutrition or anything along those lines. I am not trying to teach you how to be healthy, and I certainly cannot suggest foods for specific illnesses, allergies, intolerances or anything like that. I'm not going to suggest what you should or should not be eating at all, this is simply about knowing when to eat, using your powerful mind as your ally in weight loss, ways in which you can boost your metabolism and help curb your cravings, and ways in which you can determine what is causing your overeating and cravings. 

    • How long will it take to see results?

      Well that's depends. Everyone is different, with different lifestyles, beliefs and habits. But if you follow the guidelines you will start seeing results pretty quickly. 

    • I have to eat specific foods at specific times, will this work for me?

      Hmm, that's a tricky one. Possibly not. This course teaches you about eating what you want to eat when you are hungry, eating it mindfully, and stopping once you feel full. If you have to eat at certain times, or have to eat things you don't truly enjoy, this may not work for you.

    • Will this help me lower my cholesterol?

      Nope. Not unless you eat the foods that lower your cholesterol. A reminder, this is not a course about healthy eating, this is a course about eating the foods you love and still losing weight just by changing the way you eat and the way you think about what you eat.

    • Do I really not need to exercise?

      Look, exercise has many benefits. Chief amongst them health benefits, like keeping you physically fit and mentally sharp. Additionally it's a great mood booster, boosts your metabolism, the list goes on and on. Of course you should be exercising as part of your general day-to-day wellbeing, but you don't have to if you don't want to. And this should still work for you. As mentioned, this worked for me, with zero physical exercise, so while I can't promise it will work for everyone, I can't see why it won't.

    • What if I have questions during the course?

      No problem. Each module of the course has a comments box when you can post questions related to the course and I'll be able to reply.       Ok so I love all things metaphysical. I even went so far as to obtain a doctorate in the metaphysical sciences. So what is metaphysical? If you add the Greek prefix "meta-" meaning beyond to the word "physical" nature, you get metaphysical — which is similar to the Latin-based word "supernatural." It is basically the study of phenomena that are outside everyday experience or knowledge, often philosophy of mind and psychology. I've also seen it described as religion without dogma.     Yes I get the irony, I just told you I don't like exercise and here I am on a yoga mat. But let's be honest, does it look like I'm doing yoga? Or just having fun? While I'm not necessarily a huge fan of physical exercise, I do love being outdoors in nature under my favourite jacaranda tree having fun with my friends.

     

    I'm Dr Deb, founder of the Transformation Academy and contributing author to the international best-selling book Elevate Your Wellbeing.

     

    I have always had a fascination with the power of the mind, and over the years have discovered it's not always about what you do, but more about how and what you think that matters. And it's the beliefs and attitudes you hold that determines your outcome.
